  • Multi-Use Range

We will be shooting on Mondays (weather permitting) until it gets too cold in the Fall. Please always check the club calendar to verify the event is still on for the week. This year, we will be alternating Mondays between cardboard targets in the Multi-Use Berm with carbines and steel targets in the Pistol Berm.

Setup starts around 4:30 PM. Shooting starts at 5:00 PM.

All adult current members are welcome to attend. No registration is required. Show up when you can. We will be running each evening as a mini-match and have rankings for the participants that evening.

We encourage new shooters as well as seasoned shooters to attend this event. It is a great way to get introduced to action shooting sports. All shooting is done under the direction of a Range Safety Officer to ensure the safest possible event possible. We will walk you through every step safely. The safety of participants and spectators is of the highest concern.

The targets we shoot at are standard IPSC-style cardboard profiles used in many action shooting sports. We shoot MUCH more informally than an actual match. However, we take safety as seriously as a professional match.

The most important thing to know when showing up is that the event is run as a "cold range". This means there are NO guns out of cases or being handled behind the firing line. Pistols and Rifles should be brought in a closed case or zippered sleeve and unloaded with magazines outside of the case. Holsters DO NOT count as a case. You WILL be allowed to load magazines behind the firing line at any time. Ammo, magazines and pistols should not be in the same case at this event. If you have a chamber flag, please have one in your firearms prior to arrival. If you do not have a chamber flag, we will provide as many as you need free at the event and get you squared away either at the safe table or on the shooting line.

There will be a safety briefing at the start of the event and one-on-one safety briefings for those arriving later. Eye and ear protection is required for anyone attending, including bystanders. Side shield style or wrap around eye protection is HIGHLY recommended. Amplified hearing protection is an advantage as well, but not required.

This may sound a little intimidating, but be assured that this is a great group of club members that get together to have fun, improve rifle skills, and enjoy great company in a safe environment. All are welcome. There is of course some friendly competition that occurs but that is not the primary focus.

If all you have is a .22 LR carbine like a Ruger 10/22, great--that is the ideal rifle to start shooting this event with. It is a fantastic way to learn the fundamentals without getting fatigued or spending a ton of money on ammo. Most shooters shoot .22 LR in addition to other calibers as well. The most common rifles at this event are .22s, pistol-caliber carbines, and semi-automatic carbines shooting intermediate rifle cartridges, but lever actions and milsurps make regular appearances too!

Cost is $5 for all the events of the evening. Generally, there are between 2-4 events depending on how many shooters show up. Credit Card or Check are the only forms of payment accepted. Punch cards will be available for purchase as well and preferred. The same punch cards for trap league can be used for pistol league.

If anyone has RSO experience or qualifications and would like to help run the event on Mondays, please let us know. This event is 100% volunteer coordinated and staffed. Its future depends on the commitment of a few regular attendees willing to help manage it.
